TERS-8 conference

The 8th International Conference on Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS-8) at Sorbonne Université, Paris France, initially scheduled from August 30th till September 1st 2021 has been postponed to November 2nd till November 4th 2022. The conference whas been held in a hybrid format (online simulcast).

Sorbonne Université campus lies in central Paris, close to the Seine River and within the historical area of Paris. It is easily accessible by plane or train.

TERS-8 was planned to address both fundamental and applications of TERS, with special emphasis on the spatial resolution, instrumentation, methodology and operando measurements. It was also the opportunity to integrate in the congress other nanospectroscopies such as AFM-IR, fluorescence or non-linear approaches.

A twelve years history of TERS conference

Since TERS is an increasingly expanding technique, the scientific community has been organizing a specific meeting every two years to bring together the academic and industrial researchers to present and discuss their latest results and innovations, exchange ideas and inspire new thoughts. TERS conference started at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in the UK in 2009. Since then, it attracted a growing number of scientists from all around the world and has been held in NPL (UK, 2011), ETH (Switzerland, 2013), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil, 2014), Osaka (Japan, 2015), NIST (USA, 2017) and Xiamen, China, 2019). 84 attendees were present in Xiamen and we expect between 100 and 150 attendees in Paris.
